Ever misspelled a name while booking a ticket? Ever had a concern that they won’t let you board the flight because of it.  What about if you recently got married and your spouse booked your tickets in the new name instead of one present on your government id?

Case 1 – Accidentally Misspelling

I have done this error few times as I was sleepy and I was just typing everything with eye closed. Luckily, for me, I am a frequent flyer and I always attach my FF number to the tickets.

In those cases, you can usually call up the call center and ask them to change it for you or you can go to local ticketing office and get the name change done.  You would be required to carry your legal id.

In case of recent name change

1. You are supposed to either provide them affidavit with your name change.

In cases of spouse name error.

Please provide airlines with:

1. Your Marriage certificate
2. Your tickets
3. Your wife’s id before marriage

You would have to email it to their address or somehow connect with their originating hub as other airports really don’t have any power to help you out.

  1. I HAVE BOOKED TICKET IN JET AIRWAYS.

THE NAME IN BOOKING IS OF MY WIFE IN HER MAIDEN NAME. I BOOKED THE TICKET IN NAME OF SHIVANI KANSARA. HOWEVER , AFTER MARRIAGE I CHANGED THE NAME IN PASSPORT AS SHIVANI JAYKAR PARMAR.

WHAT RECOURSE DO I HAVE TO HAVE THE TICKET CHANGED TO SHIVANI JAYKAR PARMAR.

THE CHANGE IS DUE TO MARRIAGE

    • You would have to contact Jet Airways directly. Send an id of your wife in her maiden name and her new passport front page and the last page. Please also provide your marriage certificate. I am sure they would modify this easily.
