Due to CoronaVirus, Indian aviation has been in the front of bearing the brunt due to the pandemic.
As India has closed it’s border causing multiple flights disruption. While International aviation is a different story, there is impact on domestic aviation too.
As public places are shutting down like malls, cinema, public avenues. Many companies are offering employees to work from home. People are avoiding travel for leisure or business as they may be disrupted any time. In such situation, What are the airlines truly offering?
Except Vistara, all the airlines are offering Free rescheduling while Vistara has been offering free cancellation. Policy of Air India is the most stringent while Vistara is ideal. Air Fares have dropped drastically and hence most airlines have been offering sales to acquire some liquidity for future.
AirAsia
AirAsia India has extended free rescheduling of tickets for all travel till March 31, 2020 on existing and new bookings. The travel can be rescheduled to any date but requests should be made at least 3 days before your departure time.
Air India
Air India has the most stringest policy of all the airlines.
Air India is offering 1 time free rescheduling for all existing Bookings with travel date till 30th April and New bookings booked till 31st March 2020. The modification has to be made atleast 72 hours before the flight while they have put the deadline of 31 May, 2020 to book the ticket.
Customers will truly feel pinch with this decision as they might not know when they will require to fly this particular leg again.
Go Air
GoAir is offering free rescheduling for bookings made between March 8 to April 30, for travel between April 15 to June 30, 2020. The new and existing flight bookings in March and April can be rescheduled 3 days prior to the travel date.
For new bookings beyond March, flights can be rescheduled 14 days prior to the date of travel. GoAir also said that fare differential will be applicable on rescheduled tickets.
Indigo
IndiGo offered to waive off rescheduling charges on tickets booked between March 12 and March 31 for its domestic and international flights.
Indigo has not shared as how many time customer can rebook their flights if further changes are required.
SpiceJet
SpiceJet is offering free rescheduling on the tickets booked for travel between March 12-31. Same applies for new tickets bought in the same period. However, passenger who have to re-book the flight will have to pay the fare difference.
