SPG/ Marriott has just announced a cool new promotion to encourage members to use the SPG mobile app to check-in for their stays. Specifically, through June 15, 2018, SPG members canearn 250 bonus Starpoints for checking in online using the SPG mobile app at over 1,100 hotels.
The promotion is valid for stays at seven brands, including St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin, Le Meridien, Tribute Portfolio and Four Points. This promotion isn’t valid at other Marriott or Starwood brands, and is only valid through the Starwood mobile app. I am surprised that W is not part of the equation.
There’s no registration required, and no limit to how many Starpoints you can earn, and bonus Starpoints should post within a few weeks of the promotion ending. You need to book directly with Starwood (either online or through their app) to qualify, though previously booked reservations should qualify — all that matters is when you stay.
With Starwood’s mobile check-in, members receive a notification approximately 48-72 hours before their stay asking if they’d like to check-in using the app. Then on the day of arrival, they’ll receive a notification alerting them that their room is ready and that their key is waiting for them at the front desk. Their folio is also emailed directly to them when using the app.
