India’s access to Global Entry is officially live now. This is a huge deal for something that has been dragging since 2015 but finally made it live.

Last week President Trump and Indian Prime Minister made the program official as you can read.

With this program, pre-approved, low-risk travelers from the country will be able to get accelerated clearance to the US borders, by allowing people to access through automated kiosks rather than queuing up to meet an immigration officer. Of course, you need to have a valid passport and American Visa before you can think of applying for Global Entry. Global Entry is currently available at 53 US airports and 15 pre-clearance locations.

It is interesting that all the Global Entry is for countries that require a visa to get to the USA or valid USA passport holder.  India is the 11th country to be part of this program. I guess they do not want to rely on citizens who get free entry to the USA.
