When bleeding goes dry, nobody can find infection to stop. The same is happening with Jet Airways. It is chopping every partner out except Delta Airways. (or it’s partners such as Air France KLM, China Eastern etc).
For one partnership, it decided to cut the partnership with rest of the world. Jet Airways cut out Emirates and Gulf Air. Last year, even 4 Star Alliance partners were chopped – Turkish, Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian.
You know it’s like I am only loyal to ONE Partner and I am blind to rest of the world kind of relationship. If they were human, it would make a cute story. However, from a customer point of view – it is actually a horror movie with bloodbath gore. For sake of one partnership, it’s literally killing ties with rest of the world.
Who could forget good old American and United chop too. Well, there are 2 other chops too – Alitalia and Air Berlin.
It is already hard to book a partner airline ticket with the airline. Anyone here tried booking an award ticket with the partners’ airline? You can’t call the airline and book it. You have to email it to them. The team who is dealing with the process of ticketing the partner airline is crippling slow and absolutely inefficient. I will create another post of an adventure of booking a ticket with Jet Airways partner airlines.
From the Etihad Partnership – there are only 3 partners left – Etihad (obvious), Air Serbia and Air Seychelles. Who would have thought? I have a feeling that one of those might be on chop soon too.
Luckily, Delta Airways and Korean Airlines are deepening their bonds too. So Jet Airways might share the love too.
Cathay Pacific
Jet Airways has removed any partner miles earning with Cathay Pacific flights to India. You can earn miles only to a destination beyond Hong Kong such as to China, Taiwan, USA etc.
What if Cathay Pacific relationship might be on chop soon too? Remember, Jet Airways is trying to deepen the love with China Eastern.
