Introduction
Hotel Radisson Blu is currently considered the top most hotel in Indore and has been for a while. Radisson Blu is part of the Club Carlson group for which I hold membership. I had a free night stay that was about to expire. I went ahead and decided to redeem night at this hotel.
I have stayed with Radisson Blu across the globe including New York, Copenhagen, New Delhi and Moscow. I really wanted to see how this one fared against its international partners.
My stay was coincided by IPL cricket match in Indore being played between King’s XI Punjab and Rising Pune SuperGiant.

Check-In
As it is with any cricket fixture in India, it is difficult to get a top room in the hotel. I understood that top celebrities would have parked themselves in suite rooms and I wouldn’t be getting one.
As I checked into the hotel, the hotel was quick to check me in and assigned me a superior room on the higher floor.
I was provided room number (). The elevator is on the right side of the reception.

Room
My room was right across the elevator. The room opens into a short hallway. Just behind the door is the luggage rack.
On the left side is the washroom and as you walk ahead you have a bedroom.
As you walk ahead, there is a table on the right which consists of a mini bar. There is TV mounted on the wall right about the bar.
Right across the mini bar is round table to keep your stuff.
Next to the table is comfortable King size bed.
They have modern switchboard with a master power switch that resembled that of Le Meridien and Westin. I was surprised to see modern looking switches as I expected them to be old. I can truly say that this hotel is indeed International standards.
There was a study table right next to the window, a perfect place for me to have my table. A place where I could sit down and get my work done.
At the corner of the room, there was round table with a lounging chair.
It took a while for the hotel to get me some welcome amenity. They offered me cookies, chocolates, and fruits.
As it was hot summer day and I had nothing better to do, I head upstairs for quick dive in the pool.
I couldn’t have expected a better view of Indore anywhere other than this place.

Washroom
As you enter the washroom, you see a large square basin with lot of storage area around it. It looked very modern indeed.
As you turn left, you have an open toilet. There was a bidet spray attached to it. Something I appreciate being present at this hotel especially when it wasn’t present in New Delhi’s hotel.
I liked that they had a shower cabin here. There was no rain shower present here. It was a normal shower with a good temperature and pressure. I did enjoy my shower here.
-
Toiletries
The toiletries are provided by this work. The fragrance is very refreshing and I enjoyed its use. They had a citrus smell.

Fitness Center
Fitness center is located on the top floor along with the swimming pool. There is something charming about roof top swimming pools as the privacy it provides and views you can see from the pool.
There is nice shade around the pool. The swimming pool is well designed with multiple zones.
I didn’t use the gym but I did go inside to get pictures for you.
I wasn’t expecting much from the gym here but I was thoroughly surprised by the quality of equipment present here.
The gym was a long room with a lot of space for people to work out. They had so many types of equipment including dumbells, barbells, Bosu balls etc.
The cardio machines were also decent. It wasn’t the top of the line but it had a TV and some tracks. You have the same tread mill in St. Regis Mumbai and hence I would give it equal weight as St Regis. They had multiple tread mills, cycle, and ellipticals.
There is a nice city view from the gym. I captured a panoramic shot. I think I should use this feature more often.
The gym even featured a staff and an instructor was present throughout my time there. They even had water bottles, napkins, and other stuff present there. After my swim, staff quickly came and offered me a towel. Good service indeed.

Food and Beverage
Radisson Blu is a lovely place for carnivores and vegetarians barely scrape by. Most of the breads, sweets, desserts are created with carnivores in mind and there are may be 2 or 3 options available for vegetarians. I will let photos speak for themselves.
I didn’t find chef very creative. They couldn’t produce a lot of dishes for anyone with dietary problems. There are no labels indicating any dietary issues.
The spread at this hotel is expanse and there are lot of options available for Indian breakfast.
They
do have fantastic yogurt options that I devoured quickly. I am a big fan of baked yogurt. As I was in hurry to consume my meal as I had a flight to catch. I spotted a lot of players from King’s XI Punjab at the breakfast. It was nice to meet them and have a chat with them.
For your pleasure, you can check out the spread here.
On request, you can order nachos which were delicious.

Service
I found the room service to be on slower side and I had to wait for the calls. However, the staff meant well and whenever they were present, they provided a quick service without any questions asked.
I would definitely keep coming back here until there is better hotel that opens up in this city.

Bottomline
As I didn’t pay anything for my stay here and it was a reward stay, I can’t say much. The service was decent. I enjoyed the way hotel is designed and it surprised me that it was truly international standards when I went inside not expecting it to be of that level.
I would love to check out their suite room soon. It was a pleasant stay for me and I got to meet a lot of players here.
The hotel can improve upon it’s on time delivery and communication. I wish they had more options for vegans and vegetarians. It is sad when you are in a country where there are so many vegetarians and you live them scraping with few options. I have dined at this hotel multiple times and I have shared the same feedback time and again.
I guess it’s management decision to not to give any mind to vegetarian eaters.
